The cove is an Oscar-winning film documentary following a group of activists that aimed and managed, to capture on camera the slaughtering of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. Every day the dolphins are lead in the cove, some captured for aquariums and zoos (where they suffer from extreme stress due to the lack of space and the high sounds, as dolphins are very sensitive to sound) and the rest killed for their meat which is then sold, mostly illegally as whale meat. The dolphin meat is toxic as it contains high levels of mercury and very often causes mercury poisoning to its consumers.
Even if you don’t have the time to watch the documentary, which is very interesting, you can still sign the petition to stop the capturing and killing of the dolphins, here. Since we care about Japan, we might as well actively care about it…
