Hey shen… You may have thought of it already…and it may not be of any use to you …but I was researching for some octopus drawings for my media studies and I got to thinking about your project… it might be interesting to look at the octopus for a point of influence on a conceptual level for its links with the water, the way in which ink can be transported through the body of an octopus (i.e. through the tenticles which I thought might be relevant because of the branching pathways I saw on your model) and I thought it may influence the way in which you building behaves…. not too take it too literally – but its just a suggestion!:)

I just thought I’d post the link to this text titled, ‘Cairo; Shopping in the City of the Dead.’
Although it isnt strictly refering to the Food Crisis, or food suppy generally, I felt that it gave a good description of the market there and the type of atmosphere it has – and the amazing variety of ‘junk’ that is sold!
