Ayahuasca is used largely as a religious sacrament. Interesting documentary on the ayahuasca drug that is used by shamans of indigenous tribes to contact the spiritual world and take control of the jungle. Although the ritual of taking the drug is no longer that 7-10 minutes, the experience is quite intense and takes the mind to illusory places and beings.
‘One can teleport to another locations in minutes with this drink.” The belief is that the user of the Ayahuasca is able to see the the invisible world that holds everything together. The users interpret their visions (“a tree was transforming into a vein, in its middle the tree had teeth and was smiling. After smiling it blew a strong wind like a hurricane to the south and to the north.”) in paintings called Ayahuasca Visions.

There are several other interesting movie-animations on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lnJ0uvbSK8 ), that explore the experience of the user, the psychedelic states and the understanding the spirituality of the land.

Look also at the paintings [Ayahuasca Visions] that they create through their experience. (Google it and http://www.ayahuascavisions.com/pablo-amaringo-paintings-1.html)
