The Amazon is by definition a landscape indifferent to human order and harmony, a place impossible to convey as a rationalized product bounded to civilized moral rules. Then, how can an articulation which makes the struggle between man in this prehistorical nature visible, be accessible by an audience? If the jungle and opera are both axioms of emotions, where these last ones can not be concentrated any further; can Opera, and more precisely the operatic expression be an access point for the articulation which comes from this all mighty Amazon? 

Articulations vary, the medium of representation has passed from ink on paper (diary entries and pictorial maps where Catholic faith met jungle fantasy) to in this our XXI century the broadcast and live connection. Both of them will always be subjected to the feel and intensity of the jungle and of the Amazonian world. Both will be accessed operatically.

I am designing a Digital Opera which is directly linked from the Amazonian world, yet it exists in Saville Row. Taking as a case study example the architecture of the Teatro Amazonas in Manaus, I am searching to define an architectural expressive language that comes from the Internet and the way it sends and receives data (here, the broadcast, a body of digital data that is sent from the Amazon and received in London as an autonomous act that will manifest itself operatically within the building). 

How can I conceive the idea of an Opera House where its act has changed medium…now it belongs to a digital world that comes from a distant, fantastical land, the Amazon, and that has been exposed to the inner Internet Protocols, thus it is also soaked by digital mythology and forms of network interaction. ? .

If for the Ancient Greek, the forms of the theatre and of tragedy as a performative art was based on Olympic mythology and legends; an architectural language deeply attached to the way of living, seeing and interacting with the world. What if now, the architectural language  and dynamics of a Digital Opera is based on a world of information exchanges, encapsulation of data, sending and receiving and in the multiple invisible layers that are hidden in a world resembling the mysteries and wonders of Mount Olympus.
