The Lung of Phnom Penh by mayalait

I continued to think about my project and started drawing a “section” in 1:100 scale to place the different functions in a system – inflated shading/roof on the top (TS), growth of plants under this, water dripping, distributed downwards and stored in the ground, living units towards west and the “market street” in east. My thoughts can be read above in the section, with diagrams showing the functions of the structure. Rainwater is collected in “water weights”. When heavy rainfall occurs during the monsoon period, the water weights get heavier and sinks, lifting the housing units up in the structure – saving them from the yearly floods of Phnom Penh.
