Second Drawing

Hello everyone!

The final image is still rendering, so I will post it as soon as it is done tomorrow. For now, I have a low-quality version with people as well as a diagram that describes the process of electricity generation. As I said in the last post, this drawing is meant to focus on the energy production starting from rainwater collection, then photosynthesis, next algae growth and storage, oil extraction in tanks, and electricity conversion from the heat.

In the next drawing, I was going to design a workshop space that the locals would use to learn the technology, make the creatures, and socialise by utilising the energy produced.

Thank you!

Sasha

Hello Ricardo, Nannette, and Nicho!

The Final drawing is currently rendering, will be done by tomorrow.

These are the last drafts. I changed the composition from landscape to portrait to balance out the amount of details.

The main idea of this drawing is to represent stages of the energy generation process. First, rain water is collected from the roof and the buckets are lifted up to the garden. Then, in the garden the ‘algae creatures’ photosynthesise and algae circulate in the tubes to the ‘algae tanks’. The metal skeletons with tubes on the perimeter are storages for the grown algae. Inside the cages are the algae oil tanks which provide oil to the generators above. Finally, electricity cables are connected to the poles and energy is distributed to the houses. The biomass left from the production can be used as a soil fertiliser for the local plants.

As well, I added the people to the composition. These are the workers who maintain the structure throughout the day. For instance, build cages, carry material to the tanks, have lunch on one of the platforms, and look after the garden.

Thank you!

Sasha

Hello Ricardo and Nannette,

I worked on adding details to the platforms and tried to create an abstract ‘algae tubes’ material for the creatures. Still have to resolve the section of the building and add people doing different activities.

Thank you!

Hello Ricardo and Nannette,

This time I focused mainly on developing the overall composition of the drawing. There are 3 different areas of the Kampung populated by the ‘algae creatures’ which create different types of infrastructure. Firstly, close to the railway, there are be observational structures, that locals use to look after their children on the railway. A red light signal would appear whenever the train approaches the Kampung. Secondly, another part is devoted to social gatherings. The creatures form a garden with benches and canopies. Lastly, the part near the river will be organised as a fishing spot.

I am still working on modelling the actual pieces of the ‘outdoor furniture’/ creatures. As well, I need to focus on the sections, which will show also the relationship to the interior. Although, I’m not sure about the scale because it seems that the details of the creatures are not very noticeable.

Thank You!

Sasha

Hello Ricardo and Nannette,

I modelled a part of the railway Kampung and the overground structure with algae creature on top. The strategy now consists of the platforms that go across the entire Kampung at different levels, in order for people to be able to access the top. On the higher platforms, where there is the most sun, I positioned the ‘energy creatures’ which have the same qualities as Term 1 design. They can be manually operated and they have algae that generate energy. The platforms themselves would be constructed out of scrap material – cheap and local. Under the platforms are the tubes with algae that are interconnected to create a constant circulation of biomass, form inspired by the cable connections in the Kampungs.
Currently, I want to focus more on the algae creatures and develop their form and the way they are attached to the platforms.
Thank you!

Best Regards,
Sasha
